Harvey Chevous joined Leading Lives as a Digital Marketing apprentice 3 months ago, after deciding he wanted to pursue a career change into a field that interested him. When he saw we were looking for someone, he took some time to research us as an organisation and found the work we do interested him and our values are closely aligned with his.

He says “From my first day, I felt welcomed by everybody in the organisation and immediately had discussions about how I would be supported with the apprenticeship. Then, when my apprenticeship officially began a few weeks later, my tutor, line manager and myself discussed how the whole process works and the support I would receive. This included talking about ‘Off the Job’ hours, which is any learning you do during your working hours that teaches new knowledge, skills, or behaviours. Me and my manager then sat down and planned how my week would look, including my off the job study time, which was really helpful for me to visualise how I was going get all of my work done for the apprenticeship, and also my day-to-day job.

Overall, it has been a very smooth process with my tutor and Leading Lives making things simple. I am looking forward to progressing through my apprenticeship and with Leading Lives in the future.”
