Supported Independence

Our Supported Independence service provides the support you (or your loved one) need to lead the life you choose! We work alongside people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and anyone else with a social care need from the age of 13 and upwards.

We offer support with housekeeping and personal care, and we go beyond this. We look for opportunities to increase your skills and abilities to enhance your independence. We also work with you to build your confidence to achieve your goals.

Our support can also provide respite from caring duties for family members, so you can all enjoy your time together more.

You can access our flexible support options from as little as one hour per week or can book a block of up to several hours per day, at times that work best for you. This could be once a month, once a week or as many days as you prefer. We can also provide support multiple times in one day if preferred.

We also provide private support and accept Individual Service Fund (ISF) and direct payments. We offer competitive rates to private payers – get in touch to find out more.

We proudly work in partnership with social workers, the NHS, social care groups, charities and mental health organisations to support with:

This image shows a support worker walking next to a customer. The support worker is wearing a green t-shirt and has long blonde hair. The customer is wearing a flowery dress and a pink cardigan and is also wearing glasses. She is pushing a maroon coloured trolley to store groceries in after she has finished shopping. They are both walking through a supermarket and the support worker is pushing a trolley with some groceries in and is also holding a shopping list with a pen. They are looking at each other and smiling. Behind them is the fruit and vegetable isle and the self checkout. This is a photograph from our supported independence service where customers are supported to do day-to-day activities.

Physical Health

We will support you to maintain or improve your physical health. We support you to book GP Appointments, annual health checks, collect prescriptions and prescribed medications. We can also support you taking your medication correctly and we can support you with personal care.

We can help you eat healthily with meal planning and preparation as well as encourage you to maintain your physical fitness by supporting you to go to the gym, walk regularly, go swimming or whatever works for you.

Emotional Wellbeing

We will support your mental health and emotional well-being by empowering you to access the community, get out and about, make and keep friendships and other relationships, and pursue your interests and hobbies.

We are proud of creating great relationships with those we provide support to contribute to overall emotional well-being. Rather than telling you what to do, we listen to your concerns and ideas.

Everyday Life

We will support you to get through the general administration tasks necessary to live well such as budgeting, managing bills, responding to letters/emails, and both organising and attending appointments.

We also support with keeping your home safe, clean, and healthy by supporting with tasks such as checking smoke alarms and maintaining cleanliness.

Goals & Dreams

If you need support to achieve a goal, we can help. Whether you need to re-organise your home, perform a spring clean, or even support you to learn a new skill.

We also love to support you to achieve your bigger dreams, whether that’s taking a trip, getting a job, or even getting married!

Our warm and friendly team are looking forward to meeting you and helping you to lead the life you choose!
