We are piloting a high-quality, ‘home-from-home’ short break opportunity for people with dementia.
We understand that people with dementia want support to lead the life they choose, not to be cared for, and our person-centred support is designed to ensure you can relax and enjoy your break while your family/carer enjoys theirs. Short Breaks are available from a single night up to a week, and are pre bookable in advance.

Personalised Care
These specialist breaks are available at John Turner House, our Short break unit in Lowestoft. They offer a warm welcome and enjoyable stay based on each guests’ own personal preferences. The safe, supported environment means you can make your own choices about what to do, including choosing activities to participate in or not.
The accommodation is registered with the Care Quality Commission is extremely well-equipped with the latest technology and facilities, and can cater for those who have additional needs such as epilepsy or a physical disability.
Each room has a fully accessible bathroom ensuite, and our trained team members can help you to get in and out if you need.
The kitchen is open style with a small dining room attached. Guests are welcome to use it and it is fully equipped with everything needed to maintain independence. There are no set mealtimes, we work to the routines you request. We will check your favourite meal choices before your stay so we have food on site which is too your taste, but if you fancy a take away or something different, that’s available too.
Our lounge and dining areas are comfortable and stylish and allow lots of social opportunities, and you can also enjoy the tranquil gardens, knowing that while you are enjoying your stay, your family members can also enjoy a break from caring duties.
