We are an profit-for-purpose employee-owned co-operative. All our permanent employees can become shareholder members and co-owners of the business and usually around 90% choose to do so. This means they care about how the organisation is run and the quality of care we provide.

We have an elected Board consisting of employees working in different aspects of the business, and two non-executive directors.

At our AGM in September, we were pleased to announce that Nicky Lawrence and Phil Montanjees had been elected to join serving members Stuart Howell, Bex Darlow, Russ Arkell and Sue Pearce, on the board.

We were also pleased to welcome Scott Darraugh, as our new Non-Executive Director and first external chairperson, and Sue Putters as our Non-Executive Director advising on Finance and Technology.

The Ex-Officio members this year are Lucy Humphrey and Ali Hagger and the Officer roles are as follows: Chair – Scott Darraugh, Vice Chair – Bex Darlow, Secretary – Stuart Howell, Treasurer – Sue Pearce.

We are proud to be a provider of Social Care Services to Suffolk County Council. Our association with the council goes back to before we became Leading Lives as we were originally a part of the council’s offering. We are also a Trusted Provider Organisation for Suffolk County Council, drawing on our knowledge, experience and extensive community networks to conduct Care Act reviews and assessments, and develop more creative approaches to care and support plans.

Our AGM

This year, we returned to holding our AGM in person and teamed it back up with our Making the Leading Lives Difference Awards.

Our 2024 event was held on Friday 27th of September and was attended by over 130 of our employees. We shared our successes and talked about how we are changing to meet future needs.
