Lowestoft Night Hub recently hosted an epic End of Term Summer Party and they all had a blast!
They started with a group discussion to find out what they enjoyed most during the last year and heard that they’ve really enjoyed the arts & crafts sessions, the Super Mario Day fancy dress party, the 80’s karaoke night and the beatboxing session. But most of all, they loved seeing their friends, making new friends and having fun.
Our volunteer, Nathaniel, said simply, “I’ve enjoyed 5 years of pure FUN!”
Next we surprised the customers with an Awards Ceremony! All customers were awarded a certificate for being the brilliant people they are.
Some of the awards given were:
- The Ultimate Rule Breaker
- The Party Starter
- The Happiest Night Hubber
- The King of Creativity
- The Best Joke Teller
- Natural Born Leader
Everyone was so pleased with their awards, and took their turn to come up with Awards for all staff members, which they LOVED! This also was our last session for our Team Leader, Louise, who’s maternity leave was starting. All the customers all bought in cards and well wishes, and are looking forward to meeting the baby once she is here.
After that we enjoyed our annual pizza feast!
The Dominos delivery driver decided to join in with the fun for a few minutes, and let us take a picture with him – we promise he wasn’t really under threat at any time!
We finished our session with another summer tradition – a water fight!
This was hilarious and once again our support workers got soaked! It was a perfect way to end, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back in September.
