Leading Lives recently put our in-house PBS training forward to be peer-reviewed for the first time since developing it, and we are thrilled to announce we received a Bronze Award.
Donna Rose, who was part of the team creating this training said, “I am so proud to be part of the PBS Team, and to be able to say that we have been endorsed by Skills for Care is a massive achievement and recognition for Leading Lives!”
Donna and the wider PBS Team dedicated many hours to creating the training and getting it signed off and approved, so we are incredibly proud of them for this achievement. In fact, Donna’s presenting style led to her receiving the feedback that her presentation skills are already at ‘silver’ level.
We chose to be peer-reviewed by Skills for Care, the strategic workforce development and planning body for adult social care in England, as we felt it would be invaluable in helping us critically analyse our training and look at how we can improve it, we didn’t expect to get any award at this early stage!
Our PBS Trainers and Learning & Development Team have already scheduled a meeting in September to update the material based on Skills for Care’s incisive commentary. This updated material will include a PBS Workshop for Support Workers, an additional, tailored workshop for Team Leaders and Service Managers and another session will be created for back-office and business support staff. We’re hoping for a Silver Award in the future, but more importantly, we want to ensure that our training enables team members in all parts of the organisation to support our customers to lead the lives they choose.
