What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a Government backed scheme that aims to ensure organisations can protect themselves against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks. The training taught us that cyber attacks are varied but that most are quite basic in nature and easily preventable when certain precautions are taken. We put technical controls in place to protect us from cyber attacks and removed the simple vulnerabilities necessary to can save an organisation like ours from becoming a target for more in-depth unwanted attention from cyber criminals and others.
We achieved our certification on our first try, something our IT consultants say they’ve never seen achieved before, so we’re definitely not an easy target! This adds another level of protection for our customers who can rest assured that we care about keeping their data secure.
