Infection Control

Leading Lives follows government guidance on infection control and relevant COVID 19 safety measures in all of our services.

Mental Health

We have had Mental Health First Aiders for several years at Leading Lives, and in 2023 we also formed an Employee Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy Group.

This group was formed on the suggestion of one of our Team Leaders and is comprised of 8 frontline staff and a member of our HR team.

The group are actively investigating reasons for poor mental health and wellbeing and looking for ways to combat these. They are also working hard to de-stigmatise conversations around mental health.

EAP

We provide a free, confidential Employee Assistance Program, offering employees access to:

  • free counselling sessions
  • discounts
  • recipes
  • health checks and more

Disability Confident

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer and will make reasonable adjustments to ensure people are able to work with us healthily and happily. This includes striving to be neurodivergent confident.

Menopause

We know that the menopause can have a profound effect on those who are personally experiencing it and on those around them.

A recent employee survey showed that at least 1 out of 11 of our workforce reported symptoms associated with menopause.  Only 65 of those who had to call in sick mentioned that this was due to menopause symptoms.

In response, we have taken steps to ensure we are supporting our employees through this time more effectively by ensuring that we robust processes and training to support all aspects of the menopause.

Bike-to-Work Scheme

Our cycle to work scheme is designed to help our employees switch to cycling to work wherever possible to help physical health as well as minimise damage to the environment.

The cycle to work scheme is a government initiative allowing you to purchase new cycling equipment without paying tax or national insurance eon these products.  The cost of the purchase is then deducted from your pay over a 12- or 18-months period.

As per HMRC guidance, Leading Lives pays a mileage rate of 20 pence per mile for business miles.  Please note that usual business mileage conditions apply.
