Haverhill Community Unit is a friendly and welcoming day service for people aged 16 and over with learning disabilities, autistic people and those with complex needs.
We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, make meaningful choices and achieve their goals. Our experienced and passionate team provide person-centred support, working closely with each individual to understand what matters most to them, tailoring support around their needs, interests and aspirations.
We support people to build confidence, develop independence, learn new skills and make friends. Our varied programme provides opportunities for everyone to take part in activities that reflect their interests, abilities and personal goals.
Our aim is to provide a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where people feel valued, respected and empowered to achieve their potential while enjoying meaningful experiences and building lasting friendships.
Facilities:
Within the Unit:
- Newly redecorated Games Room featuring a PlayStation 5, Smart TV, Lego and a selection of board games.
- Spacious Creative Room filled with Arts & Crafts resources, a karaoke machine, laptops and tablets.
- Large kitchen and dining area used for cooking and baking sessions, fully equipped with a height adjustable workstation, an in-house tuck shop and laundry facilities.
- Sensory space featuring fibre optic lights, a bubble tube, comfortable seating, a weighted blanket and a variety of fidget toys.
- Quiet relaxation area with books, puzzles and comfortable seating for those who prefer a calmer environment.
- Two accessible toilets.
Within the grounds:
- Secure enclosed courtyard with outdoor seating, tables and parasols.
- Barbeque area for outdoor cooking and social events.
- Dedicated space for growing fruit, vegetables and plants as part of gardening activities.
