We are an award-winning employee owned co-operative and social enterprise. As an employee-owned business, our employees have the opportunity to become members of our employee owned co-operative and the business is run by an elected Board of employees.

This means employees are all co-owners of the business, they care about how it is run and the quality of care it provides for people with learning disabilities and complex needs, as well as autistic people. Over 90% of our eligible employees are employee-owners of Leading Lives.

At our AGM in September 2023, we were pleased to announce that the following members, Nicky Lawrence and Phil Montanjees, were elected to join serving members, Stuart Howell, Bex Darlow and Sue Pearce, on the Leading Lives board.

We were also pleased to welcome Scott Darraugh, as our new Non-Executive Director and first external chairperson and Sue Putters as our Non-Executive Director advising on Finance and Technology.

The Ex-Officio members this year are Lucy Humphrey and Ali Hagger.

The Officer roles are as follows:

Chair – Scott Darraugh, Vice Chair – Bex Darlow, Secretary – Stuart Howell, Treasurer – Sue Pearce.

Public Service Mutual of the Year

We are delighted to have won the 2019 Public Service Mutual of the Year Award in the Employee Owned Association Awards. This national award celebrates a business that has spun out from the public sector to become employee-led and is driving great impacts within the business and the communities it serves.
