Our Community Hubs and Units are welcoming places where autistic adults, adults with learning disabilities and those with other complex needs, can enjoy a varied programme of activities and experiences designed to empower them to lead the life they choose. Hub hours are from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
Our attendees get involved in creating our activity programmes, which include accessible learning opportunities and skills development, such as cooking activities, financial skills and crafting, so they can try new things, develop new interests and learn new skills. We also include plenty of social and leisure activities, from art to sport to celebrating special events, which sometimes include going to other local venues. This makes for a wonderful working experience, full of variety.
We also partner with Activities Unlimited to provide ‘Night Hubs’, these are chilled-out youth groups for young people (13-24) who are autistic or have learning disabilities, and run from 6-8pm during term-time on either a Thursday or Friday evening. This year we have also piloted a Saturday Club and a Summer Club for young people in the Lowestoft area and are hoping to expand that throughout Suffolk so you may have opportunies to work occasional evenings and Saturdays too.
