Would you like a career in social care?
Would you like to work and gain valuable experience whilst studying?
Would you like to work for a leading social care provider that values it employees and provides a positive, caring and inclusive working environment?
Apprenticeships are a great way to gain hands-on experience while studying towards an industry-recognised qualification and earning a wage.
Leading Lives can provide you with lots of opportunities and experiences in different settings including day services, supporting people in their own homes and supporting people shopping and with leisure activities. We will support you in your new environment and in your studies to give you a great start to your career in care.
By the end of the year you should have a really good range of skills and knowledge needed for the role of support working. Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you are able to apply for any support worker position that becomes available and you will be interviewed for the post.
If you decide you would like to apply for an apprenticeship with Leading Lives, please fill out an application form and return it to recruitment@leadinglives.org.uk
The process will be as follows:
We will review your application form and invite you for an informal chat so you can tell us about yourself and so that we can answer any questions you may have.
Once this process has been completed, if we are both happy to proceed, we will offer you a 2 week volunteer placement. This is really valuable time for you to see what it will be like in your placement and to identify any questions you may have.
Once you have completed your 2 week placement, you will have a meeting with the line manager of the workplace who will talk you through what happens next.
In your first week, you will have a meeting with your assessor for your qualification (Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2) and agree your apprenticeship plan.
At Leading Lives we are able to give you lots of opportunities and experience in different settings like day services, supporting people in their own homes, supporting people shopping and leisure activities. We hope you are able to have a taste of all these opportunities during your apprenticeship.
By the end of the year you should be nearing the end of your qualification, and have a really good grounding of knowledge and experience of the role of the support worker.
Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you are able to apply for any support worker position that becomes available and you will be interviewed for the post.
