Confidence in your Career

We want you to feel confident and empowered no matter what stage of your career in care you are at.

So, we invest heavily in internal and external training so you can always feel you’re providing the best possible support.

Your induction with us will consist of five weeks of a combination of face-to-face training, 1-2-1 support and eLearning together with a substantial amount of on-the-job shadowing so you get to know the needs of the people you’ll be working with as well as knowing best practice and legal guidelines. Your training will cover topics such as Total Communication, Building Rapport, Safeguarding, Personal Care, Medication and Health & Safety as well as much more.

Most eLearning modules are presented in bite-sized sessions, and many have additional accessibility features.

Supporting you throughout your Career Development

Before you start with us our Recruitment & Learning and Development Teams will be in regular communication with you.

From your first day you will have an allocated buddy & line manager; throughout your five week induction you will be supported by your buddy, line manager, colleagues, in house trainers, coach’s and Leading & Development Team.

During and following your induction you will receive reviews, 1-2-1, supervisions and appraisals all to help coach and support you.

Professional Development and Career Progression

If you enjoy the challenge of learning and want to continue to develop your skills, we can support you to complete the Level 2 Care Certificate Qualification and, following your probation, you have the option to gain further RQF qualifications to develop a rewarding career in social care.

Award Winning Training

We have a library of more specialised optional training courses, and can support you to complete qualifications in Autism Awareness, Dementia Awareness, Learning Disabilities, Epilepsy and many more.

Our award-winning training is designed to support you in your current role, and when you’re looking to develop into a new role.

Whether you are being trained for the first time as part of our Leading Lives Induction or are having your skills refreshed, you will be fully supported by our in-house trainers and product experts to help ensure you & our customers experience safe, supportive environments.

We also have a number of staff trained as Mental Health First Aiders to support colleagues and customers in need, and we have trained a cohort of Domestic Abuse Champions who are passionate about ensuring all of Leading Lives is a safe space.
