At Leading Lives, we believe our workforce are our greatest strength, and we’re committed to developing them.

Our award-winning training includes a range of in-house training modules, and we think the best people to deliver these modules are our own team members, so we develop enthusiastic experts from all areas of our organisation to become in-house trainers.

We have organised for all our in-house trainers to complete the Award in Education & Training Level 3. This course teaches the training skills needed to become an effective trainer and we have agreed to support 75% paid study time for staff training and study over 4 months it takes to complete. Pictured above is Mel Chittenden, Service Manager for our Community Hubs in Ipswich receiving her certificate from our Managing Director Lucy Humphrey and our Director of Daytime Operations, Becky Steer.

We recognise our in-house trainers’ dedication and so are also implementing a new ‘trainer’ rate of pay for those in Support Worker or Business Support roles. Once they have completed their training there is an uplift to their base rate of pay to £11.30 per hour for the hours they spend delivering training.

This enthusiasm for the subject matter from our in-house trainers makes the Leading Lives difference. In-house trainers are product experts in their chosen field, and they can use their skills and influence in team meetings and daily across the service. In addition, in-house trainers know the service and can deliver training congruent with the Leading Lives culture, values and ethos.
